Summary:
Ensures quality of product manufactured on the production floor is maintained and food safety is not compromised.
Any deviations to quality brought to management's attention, making sure these are corrected before released for distribution.
Essential Job Functions:
Check and document specific quality data (product and packaging) corresponding to assigned product line (crust, topping, USDA, cookie, assembly) to ensure they are within specification and help eliminate errors.
Examine the dough quality parameters (water activity, temperature, weight, pH, etc.
) for accuracy and dough consistency.
Ensure that the metal detectors, check-weigher, oven, and other control measures on a given production line, are functioning and used adequately by the line operators.
As needed, inspect the inbound and/or outbound trailer conditions and condition of the raw material/s and/or finished product for acceptance.
Assure the net weight of finished product is within the maximum allowable variance for legal requirement.
Assure the time and temperature ranges of temperature-controlled ingredients are maintained adequately on the floor during production runs.
Ensure product meets or exceeds Quality and Food Safety standards Perform the pre-operational inspections, daily operational inspections of lines.
Enforce GMP on the line.
Download quality data collected from the line on a timely fashion.
Maintain the lab and work areas clean.
Assist QA management with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High School Diploma or GED.
Two plus years of experience in a food service or manufacturing environment.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to comprehend basic mathematical concepts such as fractions, ratios, temperature tolerances, multiplication and addition Working knowledge on Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Ability to maintain information in a confidential manner.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
College course work in Science or related area Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), HACCP.
Previous experience in food manufacturing and/or laboratory environment.
Working Conditions:
Works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and exposure to potentially high noise levels, abnormal temperatures due to freezer and baking area.
