Senior Tooling Engineer
SENIOR TOOLING ENGINEER NEEDED - DETROIT, MICHIGAN AREAA Leading Automotive Supplier in the Detroit, Michigan area needs a Senior Tooling Engineer.
This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Vacation.
Responsibilities:
Assist Program Launch team in conducting new tool tryouts and other activities as scheduled.
Stabilize the process by determining root cause of process issues and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Solicit quotes for new tools and support sourcing decisions.
Manage new tool projects from source to PPAP.
Guides design develops and tests die methods, materials, processes and results.
Interface with customers, contractors and die build shops as appropriate.
Determine and document proper processing parameters and assist in auditing of the same.
Determine priorities and implement cost reduction projects; maintain detailed documentation as required.
This full-time salary role is a part of our Die Engineering team and reports to the Die Engineering Manager.
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience like a Journeyman's Card in Tool and Die Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) or more years related technical, hands-on experience Background in engineering and building dies.
CAD experience (UG, Catia, AutoCad Desktop etc).
Knowledge of automated processes including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control systems and how they interact with each other.
Proficient in troubleshooting stamping processes.
Ability to Travel Frequently.
