POSITION
Summary:
Provides the necessary measurement engineering skills to support the engineering department and the plants.
Manage and maintain point data and react to changes in the product design and requirements from the Metrology team and customer.
Coordinate and track tolerance specifications for all measurement requirements.
Ensure the Measurement point data is communicated accurately and efficiently to both internal and external partners.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the creation of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs in PC-DMIS for prototype and production through the use of offline and online methods.
oSupport and train CMM operators and programmers for all plants.
oPerforms laser or blue light scans for various programs and BU's on parts, dies and assembly tooling.
oAssists in the creation of work instructions, procedures and standards pertaining to measurement systems.
oMaintain calibration and certification records.
oPerforms various part CMM measurement functions including GR's, GR&Rs, capability studies and dimensional layouts.
oEvaluate CMM data for accuracy, prior to submission.
oSupport of corporate Statistical Process Control (SPC) database programming.
oResponsible for adhering to all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing daily work activities.
oMaintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the work area.
oMaintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
oAssures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations and laws.
oAdherence to all company policies and procedures (ex.
Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II Procedures etc.
)Education, Skills & AbilitiesMinimum of six to ten (6-10) years of experience.
Advanced knowledge of On-Offline programming in PCDMIS (CMM software) Advanced knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Advanced knowledge of Computer Measuring Machines (CMM) including measuring parts, certify fixtures and setting up fixture alignments.
Must be able to read blueprints.
Knowledge of TS-16949Knowledge of performing and reporting Gage Repeatability (GR) and reproductability (GR&R) studies.
Ability to modify existing programs for measurement and timing efficiencies.
Ability to train and teach CMM programming, standardized techniques & activities to colleagues.
Ability to read and create Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills Proven leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTSDuties include but are not limited to remaining in a stationary position, move about inside an office environment, manoeuvre around/under office furniture, operate a computer, printer, and phone.
Able to position self to install IT equipment, able to communicate information so others can understand and exchange accurate information in these situations, able to observe details at close range, and have an ability to travel to manufacturing locations.
When visiting plant site locations, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, or hazardous materials.
