Regional Sales Manager

Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for securing new business and servicing existing customers nationally for Champion Foods and the Family Finest/private label brands. Participate in strategy planning to gain a depth of understanding for the food industry, customer demographics and new distribution channels. Represent Champion Foods at industry trade shows and conventions. Responsible for managing customer service, customer meetings and recommending offers for customer sales.
Essential Job Functions:
Work with marketing to generate sales leads. Respond to sales leads generated through marketing and promotional activities
Solicit and identify new accounts within the retail and foodservice industry through cold-calling, networking and customer presentations
Manage sales brokers, vendors and co-packer relationships to ensure contract compliance and customer satisfaction
Travel to represent the Company at trade shows and professional organizations
Coordinate and attend regional/national customer and industry related trade shows
Analyze and resolve customer related issues to increase and promote sales growth and customer service satisfaction
Ensure accuracy of sample requests, verify availability and fulfill/ship customer or prospect sample requests on a weekly basis
Work with sales leadership to evaluate customer profitability and develop strategies to achieve profitability targets
Analyze category performance data to assist in top account sales presentation
Complete special projects as assigned by manager
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
For candidates without a degree, minimum of three (3) years of experience in account sales that includes knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services, marketing strategies and tactics, product demonstration, and sales techniques
Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with multiple projects and sales executions.
Evidence of highly developed communication abilities, including verbal, written and presentation skills.
Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Microsoft office, database and Internet.
Evidence of effective relationship building skills.
Ability to travel locally and nationally and adhere to the corporate travel policy.
Ability to lift and transport equipment and displays to trade shows and conventions.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience within the food industry

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
